Local flavor
When it comes to dining and nightlife in Pittsburgh, you’ve got plenty of options. There are 98 restaurants within a 20-minute walk of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Downtown’s Cultural District is hip, hop and happenin’ with numerous eateries and upscale bars. From intimate dining to rooftop bars, downtown after dusk is the place to be.

And, one of the things that makes Pittsburgh so special is its many neighborhoods.

The New York Times writes: This city of 89 distinct neighborhoods is a cool and – dare I say, hip – city. There are great restaurants, excellent shopping, breakthrough galleries and prestigious museums.”

From “Little Italy” in Bloomfield and the marketplace of the Strip District, to upscale Shadyside, and from the funky shops in Lawrenceville and the South Side to Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods are worth exploring.

The East End neighborhoods have an abundance of locally owned, intimate places where you’ll find restaurants, interesting clubs and friendly people. The North Shore is another new nightlife hot spot with numerous bars and restaurants. And, it’s not just for “game day” anymore. Come the weekend, the South Side is where the action is for the younger crowd!

End your night with a steaming cup of java at one of the many cozy coffeehouses in and around the city.
